The Strožanac Marina was founded in 1975. It was built mainly through the voluntary work of its members. Management of the marina was entrusted to the Sports Fishermen’s Society "Strožanac".
Besides managing boat moorings, the Strožanac Sports Fishermen's Society also offers crane and launching services, controls dry berths, and has additional duties such as developing sport, recreation, ecology and culture in Podstrana, in line with its capabilities.
Nowadays this marina has all the features of a modern marina. The marina has 330 berths and is surrounded by numerous catering and entertainment facilities. This is the goal of the Strožanac Sports Fishermen's Society, and it has indeed been achieved.
Although the first boat moored in this marina back in 1975, during that early period nothing much was done with it. The berths deteriorated, and almost nothing was invested in the marina.
Only recently – in 2007, with the arrival of a new management, things started to improve. Today the Society has over 500 members, and care for the marina has become a priority.
The marina has today become a modern marina, a popular spot for all ages, and is gladly visited during the summer months.
The marina is visited by many residents of Podstrana and Strožanac, but increasingly also by people from Split who have a permanent berth here. People from Split especially love this marina because it is sheltered from all winds, and it is especially convenient for them and other guests because it is easy to reach the first islands off the coast from here.
If you visit the marina, rest assured that you will enjoy it. Besides the beautiful view of the small, and somewhat larger, boats, there are catering establishments with top-quality offerings located next to the marina. Diving courses, as well as boat skipper courses, are organised near the marina. The marina is also open to other activities, from cultural to sporting. Many families with children come here too, which means everyone is invited to enjoy and have a great time.
The new look of the marina has pleased many, and this is best confirmed by the growing number of guests. Come too, visit the marina and enjoy beautiful moments on the Adriatic coast.
