Please do not get us wrong, all the places in this region will charm you in their own way, but we have decided to compile a list of the more significant ones in Northern Dalmatia.

We set off on our journey, and the first town that greeted us was Zadar.

Get to know Zadar

Everyone has heard of this city, and for good reason. Apart from being a tourist destination, for which it is very well known today, Zadar is also a historic town with three thousand years of heritage behind it.
Today it is known around the world as one of the most popular Croatian tourist destinations. The London Times even named it “the centre of fun on the Adriatic”, and the Guardian called it “the new Croatian capital of cool”. Such major world media certainly give weight to this city, which confirms its importance in the tourism world. Zadar will win you over at first sight. It is a special city, with a special atmosphere and rich offerings. It is a larger city, with plenty to do outside the season too.

It is located in the northern part of Dalmatia, which is why we decided to mention it in this story. It is surrounded by numerous national parks and nature parks. Zadar lies between Paklenica and Vrana Lake inland, with Telašćica and Kornati in front. Not very far away are the Krka waterfalls, the Plitvice Lakes and North Velebit. Simply put, Zadar has a lot to offer to all the tourists who come. This city does not depend solely on the sea and summer tourism. In Zadar you can find attractions even in the winter months, if that is what you are looking for. Historic buildings, museums and various events in the city additionally complete the overall offer in the best possible way. Three thousand years of historical and cultural heritage will attract lovers of history.

We will now describe Zadar in the context of summer tourism, since that is how we began our story.

You can easily get to Zadar by land, by sea or by air. It is very well connected and linked to all the larger cities of the Republic of Croatia. In addition, it is well connected by air routes with many cities in Europe, and by ferry lines with neighbouring Italy and some other countries.

The people of Zadar take pride in their exceptionally indented coastline, islands and unspoiled nature. These are all assets that Zadar has, and they attract a growing number of guests year after year. The beauty of the coast near Zadar will attract a large number of boaters, especially because of the many small islets and reefs. Besides boaters, campers and guests staying in luxury hotels or private accommodation will also come here. If you have decided to visit Zadar and enjoy its beaches, be sure to book today, because in season there may be no rooms left. To conclude the story about Zadar, we suggest that you explore the beaches of Zadar and look at the accommodation offer in Zadar.

Biograd na moru

It lies just about 30 kilometres from Zadar, partly on a small peninsula and partly on the mainland. Biograd na moru is situated in the very centre of the Croatian coast. Just like Zadar, Biograd na moru is surrounded by as many as 5 national parks and 2 nature parks.

It is known as a town that offers a great deal. It will charm you at first sight, and its rich offering will leave no one indifferent. Because of its beauty, ideal location and friendly people, this town attracts a growing number of guests year after year.

Look at the accommodation offer in Biograd na moru, book and visit this little town as early as next season. The beautiful beaches of this area are an invitation to many. Families with children will have a choice of beaches with plenty of facilities and shallow water, romantics will enjoy walks at sunset, while young people will spend their time in nightclubs.

Biograd na moru today is known as an important tourist centre of central Dalmatia. The town justifies that reputation, and we recommend that you visit it.

Welcome to the island of Pag – let us see what is on offer here

The island of Pag is the fifth largest island in the Adriatic Sea. It is characterised by sparse vegetation, but also by the fact that it has a very long coastline and excellent indentation. It is considered the most indented island in the Adriatic.

Some parts of the island, due to poor vegetation cover, literally resemble the surface of the Moon. Although parts of it are completely “bare”, the island of Pag will charm you with its beauty in every part.

The stony landscape is today known for rare but medicinal plant species, on which sheep graze and produce milk and cheese of a special aroma. The island can be reached from the south by bridge. The Pag Bridge is 340 metres long and comes from the direction of Zadar. The other way to reach Pag is by ferry, which docks at Žigljen in the north of the island.

Today Pag is known for the production of quality Pag cheese. If you visit this island, be sure to taste the cheese. Without it, it is as if you had never been to the island at all.

In addition to everything we have mentioned above, we should note that Pag is an island with long pebble and sandy beaches. The beaches are adorned by crystal-clear, transparent sea and beautiful sea coves.

On Pag there are also some of the oldest salt pans in this area. Even today, in some places you can see the traditional method of evaporating sea water to obtain sea salt.

We will now say a few words about the tourist offer of this island. When the island of Pag is mentioned, the first thing that comes to many people’s minds is the town of Novalja. Novalja is the main tourist centre of this island and is something of a symbol of fun and a good time on our coast. It is world-famous and therefore deserves a separate paragraph in this text. Novalja is connected to the mainland by ferry and, to the south, by the Pag Bridge. It is adorned by beautiful natural beaches, mostly sandy and pebbly, and by the crystal-clear sea that washes them. Young people especially like to come and have a good time on our beaches. There are many reasons for this, namely a few nightclubs, beautiful beaches and a sea that is in itself reason enough to come. Hotels, apartments and campsites are located along the beaches, and there is also a rich catering offer and numerous recreational facilities. Just as Novalja will make you think of the island of Pag, so will Zrće beach bring to mind a riot of colours, good music and unforgettable evening fun. Zrće beach becomes the centre of nightlife in this part of Europe in summer. Everyone who travels the world will at some point come to this beach too. Do not hesitate, book accommodation nearby and enjoy a holiday to remember. Meet people from all corners of the world, have a good time and get to know some of the most beautiful beaches on the Adriatic. Zrće is just one of them... Zrće Pag zabava

Let us see what is on offer on Murter

The island of Murter is the largest island in the Šibenik archipelago and the one closest to the mainland. It is separated from the mainland by a narrow channel, but it is linked by a movable bridge and is very well connected. Today you can easily reach Murter by car, but also by boat or ferry.

It is adorned with many smaller islands, beautiful sea and distant views of Kornati.

Murter is today attractive to boaters, and to people who want to spend their holiday in peace and quiet. Unlike the island of Pag, which we mentioned in the text above, here you can spend your holiday in a calm atmosphere without major crowds. That does not mean there is a shortage of guests on Murter; it is simply the character of the island. The beaches on Murter are suitable for children and families who enjoy time together. Young couples will find romance here, and nature lovers a pleasant place to stay.

Murter is an island with a large number of sandy beaches. It will delight you with its beauty and clean sea. If you are looking for a holiday in a slightly quieter setting – book on Murter.

Murter is an excellent starting point for the Kornati national park Kornati , which is only a few nautical miles away.

The national parks Kornati and Krka are unavoidable for all guests in Northern Dalmatia, and they certainly rank among the most popular national parks in Croatia.
