First We Will Describe the Cathedral of St James



The Cathedral of St James is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. It was built over a very long period (even more than 100 years), between the 15th and 16th centuries, in different styles. That is why it is special today, as it is adorned with various details from the early history of the city's origins. The earlier part of the cathedral is Gothic, while the later part, including the dome, is Renaissance. One of the most interesting features of the Šibenik Cathedral is on its exterior, where more than 70 unique faces representing the citizens of Šibenik from the 15th century are carved in a row. The Medieval Garden of St Lawrence's Monastery



The medieval garden is hidden in the courtyard of St Lawrence's Monastery. It is a lush oasis in which more than a hundred species of culinary and medicinal herbs grow. We can especially single out figs, pomegranates and a few cypresses.

The garden is actually of a simple structure, laid out in 4 plots divided by two crossing paths, with a small fountain in the centre. It is certainly a place worth visiting.

Banj Beach in Šibenik



If you are not exactly a great enthusiast of history, culture and art, and you have come to the sea purely for swimming – this is the place for you. Banj Beach offers an indescribably good view towards the old town, so you will have experienced everything mentioned above in a single visit.

From Banj beach there is a fantastic view of old Šibenik. Besides that, the beach attracts many visitors with its beach volleyball courts, or with relaxation in one of the nearby bars. The tourist facilities on the beach are top-notch, and it is unlikely that anyone will leave disappointed. If we add to that the already mentioned view of the old town – what more is there to say? Aquapark in Šibenik



If you are the fun-loving type, the Šibenik aquapark is just the place for you. Visit the aquapark and have a great time with fun and water sports. Find refreshment from the great heat at the first and only aquapark in Dalmatia. It is located just 5 kilometres from the city centre.

The aquapark offers a ride down the Lazy River, rides down slides and many other water amusements. The Šibenik aquapark will delight you, especially during the summer heat, when everyone wants to feel refreshed under the water currents.

Falconry in Šibenik



Many people don't know it, but in Šibenik you have a Falconry Centre.

It might sound a bit strange, but that is exactly the greatest appeal of visiting the centre and experiencing a very special adventure.

The Falconry Centre is situated in a peaceful setting, in a dense pine forest. It is located in Šibenik's Dubrava, just 8 km from the centre of Šibenik. It is a unique place where visitors can come eye to eye with a falcon. Here you can learn a great deal about the life of birds of prey, and about nature in general.

Fortresses in Šibenik – There Are 4 of Them



A special attraction are the 4 Šibenik fortresses. The view from them is breathtaking, and many will confirm this. With the construction of St Michael's Fortress, which was built in the 11th century, the history of this city actually begins. St Michael's Fortress (more) was renovated in 2014, and a summer stage was opened on it, where musical and stage spectacles are held.

St John's Fortress, as well as Barone Fortress, were very important for the defence of the city against the Turks in the late Middle Ages. In September 2014 they served as the backdrop for filming scenes from season 5 of the extremely popular series Game of Thrones.

St Nicholas's Fortress (more) is the attraction that awaits you at the entrance to the St Anthony Channel. It is very well preserved and is of interest to everyone who arrives in Šibenik by sea.

The Šibenik City Museum



The Museum is located in the former Duke's Palace, in the immediate vicinity of the cathedral. It is a true showcase of the history of Šibenik and Croatia, with plenty of multimedia content. The entire holdings of the Museum are divided into an archaeological collection, a cultural-historical department, and a department of more recent history. The permanent exhibition numbers around 150,000 items. History enthusiasts will certainly enjoy themselves here.

Visit the Dalmatian Ethno Village



If you decide to come here, you will experience the old customs of people who have lived in these parts for generations. The Dalmatian Ethno Village at Solaris takes us back through time. Set out on a walk through the narrow stone streets of the Ethno Village and find out how people once wove cloth. How people made oil and distilled rakija. The 4 Wells in Šibenik



The 4 Wells are located on the square of the same name. They are situated near the Cathedral of St James, and their construction, just like the first phase of the cathedral, is credited to Juraj Dalmatinac.

In the Middle Ages they were the main source of drinking water in Šibenik, and today they are an attraction you must experience.

The Promenade through St Anthony's Channel



This promenade was opened two years ago. Today it has become a favourite gathering place for the people of Šibenik, which is no wonder given the panoramic view of the whole city of Šibenik. At a couple of points along this long path there are also a couple of viewpoints. The view will enchant all visitors to the promenade.

Šibenik is a city with 24 churches, 4 fortresses and 4 wells. It has the most stone steps in its old town core among all cities in Croatia – as many as 2851 of them.
