Šibenik Aquarium – Fun for All Ages

Šibenik Aquarium is located in the immediate vicinity of the Cathedral of St James. It can boast 20 smaller aquariums with fish and plants from the Adriatic, as well as species from the world's seas.

The main attraction of our aquarium is a pool filled with seven thousand litres of water, in which you can see a submerged boat filled with water, inhabited by the fish and plant species of this pool. Starfish, snails and other organisms that live in the shallows of the Adriatic have found shelter inside it. For a complete experience, this pool has been designed so that visitors can also touch small sea creatures.

Each of the aquariums also has an LED screen next to it, showing interesting and educational details about its inhabitants, more specifically, how they behave in nature.

Solaris Dalmatian Ethno Village

Besides a larger number of aquariums with inhabitants in them, next to them there is also, so to speak, an anti-aquarium on display, in which there are no living organisms. In it, namely, waste items that can be found in the seas are exhibited. This exhibition aquarium is full of various waste, such as plastic bags and glass bottles, and it serves to make us aware of our poor impact on the environment and nature. Next to this aquarium there is also an informative screen, on which you can find out more about the speed at which different types of waste decompose in the sea.

Šibenik Aquarium is a unique experience of the sea and the underwater world for the whole family. It is especially interesting for children and schoolchildren, but parents and older nature lovers will also have a great time there. It is located in the old town centre, and is within easy reach for everyone. It is situated just 50 metres from the Cathedral of St James, in a stone house of authentic Dalmatian appearance.

Inside the premises there are 20 aquariums with Adriatic and tropical fish and plants. Find out which fish and plant species inhabit the Adriatic, and get to know some species from the world's seas as well. Next to each aquarium there is an LED monitor with information about the aquarium's inhabitants.

Within the aquarium there is a souvenir shop where you can buy authentic souvenirs themed around the sea and Dalmatia, largely made by local creatives.
