Skradin is a small town in the hinterland of Šibenik, on the right bank of the river Krka. Skradin is only 18 kilometres from Šibenik, which suits it in every way.
A recognisable feature of the town is the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary and its nearby bell tower. Besides this building, the towers of the Church of St Spiridon also stand out in the town.
When we describe this town we say that Skradin is a romantic place on the Mediterranean. The town is criss-crossed by narrow paved streets, many passages, arches and steps.
The whole town centre is a protected cultural monument. If you like walking and looking at historical details, you are in the right place. The town centre is made up of houses mostly built in the 18th and 19th centuries. The house façades are typical of that period, influenced by Venice, which gives a special insight into historical building today.
Located on the river, not far from the sea, Skradin has a harbour that is well filled with all kinds of boats. Boat owners like to come here, to escape the big crowds and enjoy a truly special atmosphere. Although the town is on a river, it wakes up during the summer tourist season and receives its guests very well.
If you visit Skradin, you can enjoy the real atmosphere of a small Dalmatian town on its streets. You can feel a special mood during the Skradin Festival of Klapa Singing or on the feast of Our Lady of the Nativity (Mala Gospa).
Near Skradin is also the archaeological site of Bribir Head, known among the people as the "Croatian Troy", because of the very ingenious combination of nature and ancient buildings.
Historical sights adorn this town, but many come here to swim and sunbathe. Skradin has special bathing areas, very well maintained, and excellent gastronomy. We particularly want to point out that the water is brackish because the river flows into the sea.
An interesting fact about this little town: according to Forbes, Skradin is the favourite summer resort of Bill Gates.
If you also want to come to Skradin, look around the town's streets, go to Krka Park or go down the river to the sea, book in Skradin and have a good time. We look forward to your arrival.
