Cres is interesting because it abounds in natural beauties, and especially because of the diversity of its north and south. Namely, the northern part of the island is dominated by steep cliffs with tall and thick oak forests, while the southern part is perched on pastures and bays. This interesting landscape is appealing to people who like natural beauty, enriched with blue in the background. The island is also known for its centuries-old tradition of breeding sheep that have been the main source of meat and milk in the past.

Vransko Lake is located right in the middle of the island of Cres and the largest island in Croatia, with a surface area of ​​5.5 km² and a natural phenomenon for the island of Cres, which is generally anhydrous and is a vast natural reservoir containing more than 200 million m³ of fresh water. Waterfall of Vransko Lake is 13 meters above sea level, meaning that the cryptodepression, the absolute depth of the lake is 74 meters and is one of the deepest freshwater lakes in Europe.

 



The Cres Museum was founded in 1910, and since 1973 it is located in the Arsan Palace. The archaeological collection of the museum preserves the material remains of life on the island from prehistoric times until the late Middle Ages. In the Ethnographic Collection you can see everyday use items, agricultural and fishing tools and local costumes from the 18th to 20th century. The cultural and historical heritage of the museum includes furniture, paintings, objects of use, weapons and liturgical accessories created in the period between 18th and 18th centuries. 20th century, and medals, posters and coats of arms from the island of Cres. Some of the objects come from the 16th century.

However, you have to walk to the beach, which may not be for everyone. Koromačna Beach is located on the eastern part of the island Cres. It is located outside the resort, in a natural environment with the rocky landscape that surrounds it. The beach can be reached by land and of course by the sea. The local road that will take you to the beach goes from nearby Belej. The beach is special for rocks and shallow caves. It is great for nature lovers and generally for people who love peace and quiet. It's popular though, but it's not like any other beach. It is a favorite for sailors, especially because of the imposing coastline that is best seen at less distance from the sea.

 



Valun is a picturesque fishing village located in Valun Bay, has only a couple of houses, several restaurants and cafes, and a camp above the Zdovice beach, which is naturally a part of the town. In the summer months on steep roads in front of Valun almost impossible to get free parking, restaurants and inns in the idyllic port are usually completely occupied.
