Trogir is a small Mediterranean town known for its cultural attractions, which have been part of the World Heritage under UNESCO protection since 1997.
During your holiday and camping, while enjoying nature, the sea and the beautiful views all around, you should definitely visit the old part of town and discover its cultural attractions. Trogir has a lot to offer in that respect.

The town's historic core tells its own rich history. Even at first glance you'll get the impression that this town has lived for a very long time, and that it played an important role in past times and in the development of trade by sea.

In Trogir's well-preserved historic centre there are numerous landmarks, and one of them is certainly the Kamerlengo Tower. We will describe it briefly.

Kamerlengo Tower

The tower was built in the 15th century, and credit for its construction goes to Marin Radoj. It was once a military stronghold, while today it has been converted into a stage for summer concerts and performances. From the top there is a beautiful view, together with a romantic atmosphere of times gone by. It is gladly visited, and everyone likes to come and see the tower's old walls.

By its position and shape, the tower stands proudly and its silhouette gives Trogir a special appearance.

Kamerlengo is located on the southwestern edge of the town of Trogir, right at the corner of the walls.

The oldest part is a polygonal tower from the end of the 14th century, and the walls took on their present shape after the arrival of Venetian rule. The state engineer Lorenzo Picino was consulted for its construction, and the work was entrusted to the protomagister Marin Radoj. The fortress was built between 1420 and 1437, and served to house the Venetian military garrison.

It is interesting that on the northwestern side of today's fortress lies Batarija, the pitch of HNK Trogir.

The tower is very well visited, so we have a large number of guests every year who enjoy touring and learning about the town's history. During the period when it is open to the public, many guests pass through the interior rooms and admire the way it was built, as well as the view from the tower, which stretches towards the town or towards the sea.

The ticket price for adults is 25 kuna, for children 20, and for groups of more than ten people 20 kuna per person. It is definitely worth buying a ticket and so, first-hand, seeing the interesting details that the tower has guarded all this time.

Nearby facilities: Football pitch "HNK Trogir 1912.", Marshal Marmont's Gloriette, St Mark's Tower, Konoba Štorija, Kapasanta, restaurant "Piccolo ponte"
