The Rovinj Aquarium is located in a century-old building situated within the Marine Research Centre of the Ruđer Bošković Institute, where you can experience the full diversity of the Adriatic underwater world. It was opened in 1891 as the Zoological Station of the Berlin Aquarium and is among the oldest institutions of its kind in the world. The aquarium is open to visitors and is rich in samples of local flora and fauna representing the typical communities that live in our waters. The aquarium is an interesting and beautiful collection of various species of fish, crabs and shellfish that inhabit the Adriatic.
