Velika peć is a cave on the northern slope of Sridnja gora, southeast of the village of Grabovac, in the municipality of Šestanovac, in Split-Dalmatia County. For visitors it is interesting as a space in which people lived for thousands of years.

One descends into the cave through a large, steep oval opening. Research has shown that it was inhabited from the Neolithic to the Middle Ages. The oldest finds discovered so far date from the Early Neolithic. Numerous hearths and traces of fires testify to long-term habitation. All layers are rich in finds, and the Eneolithic (Cetina culture) and Bronze Age layers stand out in particular.

The cave is a protected cultural good, entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-5999.

Data: Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia (Ministry of Culture and Media), Open Licence; coordinates: DGU (centre of the settlement).
