In the western part of Dubrovnik's historic core, in Ulica Sv. Roka, stands the church of St Roch. Visitors can see it as an example of Renaissance building with a markedly sculptural entrance.
It was built in the middle of the 16th century of regularly hewn stone. It is single-nave, with a square apse, a barrel vault, an entrance on the axis and a bell gable. It is designed in the style of mature Renaissance, with strongly pronounced sculptural work of the main entrance, which continues all the way to the base with a triple bell gable. After the French occupation it was turned into a warehouse. At the beginning of this century it was returned to worship, and after the earthquake of 1979 it serves as a church depot.
The church is a protected cultural good, entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-7252. It is located in Dubrovnik-Neretva County.
