In Ulica Sv. Dominika, in the northeastern part of Dubrovnik's historic core, stands the church of St Sebastian. It is no longer used for worship but as an exhibition space, so a visitor can see old architecture and a contemporary exhibition at the same time.
The stone church has one nave, a semicircular apse and a barrel vault. It is joined to the Dominican church by a vaulted space on the north side. It was built in 1466 as a votive gift because of the plague, on a site where stone was stored and worked; the name of the protector against infection also points to this. During French rule it served as a military prison, because of which the space and openings were altered.
The church is a protected cultural good, entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-7393.
