In Šibenik stands the church of St Dominic, a pseudo-Gothic building with valuable Baroque paintings and altars. Visitors can see it in the city of Šibenik, in Šibenik-Knin County.
The church was built at the beginning of the 20th century on the site of a smaller church from the 14th or 15th century, which belonged to the former Dominican monastery. The earlier building was destroyed in the explosion of the gunpowder store at the fortress of St Michael. The present building is single-nave and of stone, with the sanctuary facing north, which is unusual. On the north façade the remains of Renaissance openings can still be seen, and the main Renaissance portal with a high relief of St Dominic was moved to the west façade. Inside are kept a collection of Baroque paintings, gilded wooden altars and an organ from the beginning of the 19th century.
The church is a protected cultural good and is entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-2035.
