The small Church of St Margaret is located in the southern part of Dubrovnik's historic core, next to the bastion of the same name. It is partly incorporated into the southern courtyard of the Jesuit College, so it is an interesting detail for those exploring the lesser-known corners of the city.
It was built in 1571, after the decision to move an older church that stood on the site of today's bastion. It is rectangular and oriented north-south, with a floor paved in stone slabs and a pointed barrel vault. The southern façade once had a portal, which is now walled up. Above it and the stone plaque commemorating the relocation of the church there is a richly decorated rosette, and above that the base of a former stone bell gable with a single arch. The roof is gabled, covered with curved tiles. The church is not currently in liturgical use.
The church is a protected cultural good and is entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-6413.
