Church of the Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Dol

The church of the Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary is located in the village of Dol, in the municipality of Postira on Brač. It stands out from the village with its façade, rich detail and an interior painted in colours.

The façade with a curved semicircular gable and sculptural work of Baroque expression was built in 1866. The entrance with a semicircular termination is flanked by rosette-shaped windows with perforated quatrefoils. On the axis is a larger rosette with an upright window at each side, and above a profiled cornice rises a high gable. The bell tower with a simple loggia and a four-sided roof is on the east side. Inside is a single-nave space, articulated by shallow pilasters, with a flat ceiling, in the classicist tradition. It is painted with blue and brown imitations of marble.

The church is a protected cultural good, entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-4997.
