Greeting to the Sun and the Sea Organ – Zadar

Although this spot is not simply a beach, but something much more, we will nevertheless mention Zadar's harbour in this story about Zadar's beaches. Zadar is widely known for its historical events, its beautiful sea, and its well-developed transport links – by road, sea and air. More recently, after the installation of the aforementioned structures, Zadar has become a globally famous tourist city. Today it is known worldwide for its installations along the harbour – the Greeting to the Sun and the Sea Organ. They have become a kind of symbol of the city in a remarkably short time. Zadar's harbour is today a tourist attraction, a place for socialising and for creating beautiful photographs. Here, every visitor to this city wants to capture their own moment. The entire waterfront area is paved with large stone slabs. It is a place for pleasant get-togethers while strolling, watching the sunset, or simply resting on one of the many benches. Some are brave enough to jump into the sea, and it is partly because of them that we finally decided to present this spot. If we dare to call this location a Zadar beach, then we can say that it is the most beautiful beach in the city, and the most famous in Croatia and beyond. The photographs we present to you are just a few of the many that circulate across the far reaches of the internet, admired by people everywhere. We have chosen a couple of photographs just enough to convey the beauty of this place, the scale and significance of the aforementioned installations – architectural wonders – and, of course, to invite you to come and see it for yourself. The Greeting to the Sun is especially attractive at night. It was built in 2008 according to the designs of the Zadar architect Nikola Bašić.
