The Church of St Lawrence of Pazdigrad is a modest little church in Split, in Split-Dalmatia County, which preserves the memory of an older medieval church of the same dedication and of the turbulent past of the area.
The present single-nave church with an apse was built in the 19th century on the site of a medieval church, which is first mentioned in 1250 as "Sanctus Laurentius Paganus", that is, St Lawrence the Rustic. Of that older building a pre-Romanesque plutei of an altar screen has remained, decorated with interlace, which serves as the antependium of today's altar. In the 16th and 17th centuries the church suffered several times at the hands of the Turks. Inside is kept a Gothic statue of St Lawrence, originating from the church that once stood on Narodni trg (People's Square). In 1933 the Split painter Mato Meneghello decorated the interior with frescoes showing scenes from the life of the saint, and the Entombment and the Resurrection. The last renovation was carried out in 1983, when archaeological investigations were also done.
The church is a protected cultural property and is entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-3859.
