Rural Ensemble of the Hamlet of Lolići, Žrnovnica

Lolići is a hamlet high on the slopes of Mosor, in Žrnovnica, in the area of Split. It is interesting to visitors because it gathers a whole mountain-village farmstead: houses, threshing floors, a press and a votive chapel.

The hamlet belonged to the former Poljica Republic, and near it stands the votive chapel of St Nicholas. The locals had livestock pens on Mosor, and each household a gustirna (cistern). In the hamlet there are three threshing floors and a press (toć) for grapes and olives. The older houses were built of dry stone from larger pieces, and later of dressed stone bound with lime mortar, with gabled wooden roofs covered with stone slabs. The houses are two-storey. The upper floor is entered by an outside staircase and a solar (balcony), and below is the entrance to the konoba. Ground-floor smoke kitchens and pojate (lean-to sheds) stand by the houses, and pigsties and manure pits at the edge of the hamlet.

The ensemble is a protected cultural property, entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-2594.
