The prehistoric hillfort is located on Taleška glavica, on the southern coast of the island of Vis, in a position from which the surrounding area was watched. It is interesting because it is one of the largest hillforts of central Dalmatia and is dated from the 8th to the 2nd century BC.
The summit consists of cliffs with traces of leveling, but without remains of buildings. The remains of dry-stone ramparts are well preserved, and the largest scree of the northern rampart leans on the rise. On the eastern side are about ten bastions, that is, terraces with retaining walls of larger square stone blocks. The suburb is encircled by two rings of dry-stone wall. Fragments of coarse Illyrian pottery and many fragments of ordinary Hellenistic pottery are scattered on the ground, according to which Talež is dated.
