Bačokovo is a site in Podhumlje, a part of Komiža on the island of Vis, in Split-Dalmatia County. The remains of a Roman estate lie about 300 m north of the parish house and chapel, and it is the mosaics that attract most.
A wall about 50 cm high can be seen, built of medium-sized regular blocks and bound with mortar. Beside it remains a black-and-white mosaic with a stone threshold, which joined two rooms, as well as traces of a multicolored mosaic. Nearby is a field hut into which an ancient threshold is built. A small piece of a column is preserved, and all around lie fragments of ancient pottery and dressed blocks. The villa is one of many that were built beside fertile fields on the islands of central Dalmatia, and its state of preservation and especially valuable mosaics justify its status as a cultural good.
The site is a protected cultural good, entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-5825.
