Lumbarda is a place on the island of Korčula, in Dubrovnik-Neretva County, and Knežina is a site in Velo polje east of it. The vineyard landscape here conceals a Roman villa of unusual construction.

The remains of two buildings are visible, connected by a portico, built in the opus reticulatum technique. The complex follows the main path through the field and is oriented east-west. Above the northeastern corner of the western building a defensive two-storey tower was built, and in its ground floor the villa's walls are preserved. Because of its dimensions and manner of construction, this villa rustica is a unique case on our coast, and it is dated to the 1st century AD.

The site is a protected cultural good, entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-4615.

Data: Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia (Ministry of Culture and Media), Open Licence.
