The Church of St John is located in the Bunta area, east of Sutivan on Brač, at a site called Mostir. At this place late antiquity, the Middle Ages and the Baroque are layered and intertwined.
It was built on the foundations of an Early Christian triconch church from the 6th century and uses its south wall with pilaster strips, which is preserved up to the roof. The present small single-nave church with a square apse was built in the 16th century on the site of an older one from the 11th century. On the façade is an inscription with the coat of arms of the Split canon Jerolim Natalis from 1655, and above it a bell gable with a bell. The interior has a barrel vault, and in the sanctuary stands a three-part carved wooden altar with the initials and the year 1649.
The church is a protected cultural property, entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-5001.
