In Ferna bay near Sućuraj, on the island of Hvar in Split-Dalmatia County, lies a large underwater site of amphorae. The place is interesting to divers, and it was described as early as the travel writer A. Fortis in his journey through Dalmatia.

Two forms of amphorae were found, one of which appears in two versions. Most belong to the Lamboglia 4 form, also called Benoit Republicaine I. The other form has a shorter neck and handles and a thicker, pointed base; according to Lamboglia it corresponds to the first version of form two, and it has no counterpart in the Adriatic. According to these amphorae, the site belongs to the beginning of the 1st century BC.

The site is a protected cultural good, entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-5156.

Data: Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia (Ministry of Culture and Media), Open Licence; coordinates: DGU (centre of the settlement).
