Three nautical miles west of Sućuraj, in the channel between the islands of Hvar and Pelješac, lie on the seabed the remains of an American B-24 Liberator bomber from the Second World War. They are of interest to divers because they are among the rare remains of aircraft from that war found in the Adriatic.

They were discovered by divers of the Split club PIK Mornar. The aircraft was 20.5 m long, with a wingspan of 33.5 m and weighed 25.5 tons, with four Whittney & Pratt engines. According to available data, it is probably a USAAF aircraft number 4-251874. On hitting the sea it broke into two parts, and the remains lie at a depth of about 45 meters. Period: from 1940 to 1945.

A protected cultural good, entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-6527.

Data: Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia (Ministry of Culture and Media), Open Licence; coordinates: DGU (centre of the settlement).
