The remains of the steamship Dubrovnik lie in the Neretva Channel, between the island of Hvar and the Pelješac peninsula, in the municipality of Sućuraj, in Split-Dalmatia County. The site attracts divers because of an excellently preserved ship from the time of the First World War.
The steamship was built in 1892 in Scotland, and sailed for the Dubrovnik Steamship Navigation company. In the First World War, on 9 May 1916, the French submarine Archimede hit it with two torpedoes and sank it. All eighteen people on board, passengers and crew, lost their lives. The ship lies upright on the seabed and is well preserved: its structure and superstructure are preserved, as well as a large part of its inventory.
The wreck is a protected cultural good, entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-5698.
