Cultural and Historical Ensemble of the Settlement of Kornić

Kornić is a settlement on the island of Krk, in the area of the Town of Krk in Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, and the ensemble comprises several villages linked into a common cultural landscape. It is suitable for those interested in how space was shaped through the centuries.

The Kornić ethno-zone is formed by the settlements of Kornić, Lakmartin, Muraj and Brautovci with a wider farming landscape in which dry-stone boundaries predominate. The spatial patterns of the protected landscape are tied to antiquity and the Middle Ages. The settlements in their present form developed in the 17th and 18th centuries, after internal migrations from the Ponikve area in the 15th century and earlier.

The ensemble is a protected cultural good, entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-5332.
