Church of St. John the Baptist, Sužan

The church of St. John the Baptist stands on a small hill above the village of Sužan on the island of Krk, in the municipality of Dobrinj, in Primorje-Gorski Kotar County. For visitors it is interesting because of the remains of frescoes in the interior.

The remains of a single-nave church with a semicircular apse have been preserved, up to the roof cornice. The walls are built of smaller, regularly laid dressed stones in the Romanesque manner. The bell gable still rises on the facade. The greatest value lies in the remains of wall paintings in the interior, of which the part in the apse is best preserved. The church is a good example of modest Romanesque building on this island.

The church is a protected cultural good and is entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-1772.
