Mitareva gomila is a prehistoric site in Župa dubrovačka, on the border of the settlements of Čibača and Čelopeci. For visitors it is interesting as an unusual stone mound, which may also have served as a lookout over the whole field.
The mound is about 38 meters in diameter and three to three and a half meters high. In the last third of its height it is encircled by a stone ring up to four meters thick, with a total length of about 45 meters. Inside this rampart there is a depression in which the remains of a fortification are presumed. Numerous fragments of prehistoric vessels lie on the surface. The hillock (elevation 87.2) overlooks the Župa field from the south, and along its edges in the Middle Ages the churches of St. Elijah, St. Nicholas and St. Matthias were built. The mound differs from the usual burial ones, so it is considered that it was a prehistoric tower of nearby hillfort settlements. It covers the period from the 13th century BC to the 1st century.
The site is a protected cultural good, entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-6544.
