The Brzet archaeological site lies in Omiš, in Split-Dalmatia County, right beside the hotel of the same name, so the early Christian church stands in the middle of a modern tourist setting. It was discovered by chance in mid-2004, during the extension of the playground in front of one of the hotel's pavilions, when part of a sarcophagus lid and the walls of an unknown building appeared.
Investigations showed that it is a single-nave early Christian church about 20 m long, oriented towards the southeast. Inside it has a spacious apse with a bench for the clergy. Two smaller rooms are attached to the northern transept, and a narthex with a floor of square bricks was also found. Three sarcophagi were uncovered in the church and beneath the floor. Among the stone inventory stand out fragments of an altar screen relief with a cross and a fully preserved impost capital. Investigations in 2011 uncovered in the baptistery the remains of a baptismal font painted with red and blue lines. The site is dated to the period from the 4th to the 6th century.
The site is a protected cultural property, entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-5687.
