Archaeological Site Pivetova Glavica, Trogir

On the island of Čiovo, in the village of Okrug in the Trogir area, on the eastern side of the Glavica hill, lies Pivetova Glavica. It is interesting to those drawn to everyday life in the late Middle Ages, far from large urban buildings.

It is a herders' settlement from the 15th century, of which architecture built without binder, in dry stone, has survived. Traces of several houses and of spaces in which livestock was kept can be made out. On the surface, fragments of glazed majolica and of plain, coarsely made kitchen ware were found, which shows how the inhabitants lived. Similar herders' settlements are also known in the wider Trogir area, for example at the Bender site.

The site is a protected cultural property, entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-3255.
