In the Kaštela Bay, at the Trstenik location in Kaštel Sućurac (Town of Kaštela, Split-Dalmatia County), an underwater archaeological site from the period of the 1st to the 4th century lies on the shallow seabed. It is interesting because it is accessible at a small depth of one to two and a half metres.
A whole dolium was found, about a metre and sixty centimetres high and weighing more than a tonne, then two larger groups of amphorae and the remains of a wooden structure of unknown purpose, some fifty metres long. The structure consists of longitudinally laid planks and vertically driven round piles. The finds lie on the surface of the layer. The amphorae are protected by an iron mesh, and the dolium was lifted and is kept in the Croatian Maritime Museum in Split. Further finds can be expected under the sand.
A protected cultural property, entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-732.
