In the western part of the cemetery on the peninsula of St Nicholas in Supetar on Brač stands the monumental mausoleum of the Petrinović family. It is interesting to visitors because it combines Byzantine and Secession influences. It belongs to the town of Supetar in Split-Dalmatia County.
Construction lasted from 1924 to 1927, commissioned by a Brač emigrant family from Chile. It was built of white Brač stone as a cruciform central building with five domes, modelled on Byzantine architecture. The reliefs and architectural sculpture bear the influence of Viennese Secession. The author is Toma Rosandić (1878–1958), a self-taught sculptor who worked with Ivan Meštrović in Vienna. Above the crypt is a burial chapel with a statue of the Crucifixion above the main altar, a relief of the Entombment on the antependium, and statues of the Risen Christ and St Michael.
The mausoleum is a protected cultural good, entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-5944.
