In the old village of Duće on the Poljica coast, in the municipality of Dugi Rat, stands the church of St Anthony of Padua. It is interesting to visitors mainly because of the preserved original painted decoration of its interior.
It was built in 1864 on the site of an older church. It is single-nave, with a square apse, and the main façade faces south. It is built of large stone ashlar in regular courses. On the façade are a profiled entrance with a cornice, two tall arch-topped windows and a round quatrefoil window. It is covered by a barrel vault, along whose base runs a profiled cornice, and the division of the wall is executed according to the principles of architectural painting. Inside, the original neoclassical decoration with Old Testament motifs and Christian symbols has been preserved.
The church is a protected cultural good, entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-3589. It is located in Split-Dalmatia County.
