The parish church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Nerežišća on Brač is considered the most monumental Baroque church on the island. With its bell tower it dominates the village.
It was built around 1750 of hewn stone. It has three aisles, with a spacious square presbytery. The central nave is raised in a semicircle and barrel-vaulted with pendentives over basilica windows, and the side aisles and sanctuary have groin vaults. The church and the four-storey bell tower were designed by Ignacije Macanović. Its size and hewn stone leave a strong impression. Inside are seven altars with altarpieces by F. Zanibert, C. Ridolfi and A. Grapinelli.
The church is a protected cultural good, entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-4454.
