Below the settlement of Kamen, in the Brižine area on the eastern border of the city of Split, stand the church of St Peter and an archaeological site. The place is of interest to lovers of Romanesque architecture, and belongs to the city of Split in Split-Dalmatia County.
The single-nave Romanesque church with an apse in the east was built at the end of the 12th or beginning of the 13th century. It is first mentioned in 1227 as S. Petrus in Bade, and in the 17th century it was remodelled. The nave was once vaulted and now has a wooden roof structure, while the apse is covered by a semi-dome. The nave is covered with grooved tiles and the apse with stone slabs. On the lintel of the main entrance, beside Christ's monogram, the year 1675 is carved, above the door is a stone rosette, and at the top of the façade a stone cross.
The church is a protected cultural good, entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-5172.
