West of Donji Humac, on the site of a former ancient settlement, stands the church of St Elijah. It is interesting because it combines two periods: remains from Roman times and a modest medieval chapel.
North of the church is a burial chamber with a large crypt, above which a mausoleum once rose. The church is pre-Romanesque, single-nave, with a shallow rectangular apse and a gabled roof covered with stone slabs. Built into the south wall is a side door with a profiled ancient lintel and lunette. Inside, the wall is plastered and divided by three shallow niches, and the space is covered by a barrel vault reinforced with transverse ribs.
The archaeological site and church are a protected cultural good and are entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-4570.
