In the centre of the village of Bratuš, right on the coast, in the municipality of Baška Voda in Split-Dalmatia County, lies the residential and farm complex Kačić Mansion. Visitors see the remains of a fortified home from the time when people defended themselves against the Turks.
The complex consists of ten houses with a square ground plan, organised around a common courtyard. The courtyard is entered through three vaulted passages, on the south, west and east sides. The houses are single- and two-storey buildings, built of semi-worked stone. The upper floor is reached by an external staircase, a so-called balatura, from the inner courtyard. The roofs are wooden, on two slopes, originally covered with stone slabs. Although today it is badly damaged, the complex is a fine example of a fortified home from the time of defence against the Turks.
The complex is a protected cultural good, entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code RST-742-1973.
