Hikers simply love nature and a full day's climb to mountain peaks. If you are in Drvenik, or some nearby place, and you love hiking – the Drvenik Crags are a challenge for you.
Many have visited the peak of Sokolić on the nearby mountain, and well-trodden hiking trails already lead to the very top. Of course, you should plan the climb well and definitely ask for the help of a guide or someone who has already been there and knows the terrain.
When you reach the very top, from it you can enjoy the magnificent view that surrounds you. The view from Sokolić is open in all directions. From it you can see the islands of Brač, Hvar, Vis and Korčula, as well as Pelješac to the south. The north-western horizon is dominated by Sutvid with the peaks Vilovita Glava, Kokuljevica and Velika Kapela, while to the north and north-east are Mihovil, Veliki Šibenik and Matokit. To the south-east, all the way to the Neretva, are the numerous peaks of Rilić. And deep in the hinterland, in clear weather, you can see the peaks of Čvrsnica, Prenj and Velež in Herzegovina.
Anyone heading there by vehicle from the sea can reach the old village of Drvenik (Gornje Selo), or rather the small chapel above the cemetery. If you set off from the northern side towards the mountain, the nearest access is the village of Donja Višnjica, where the trail markings begin on a stone retaining wall next to the small chapel. You can reach Donja Višnjica from Vrgorac (through Kokorići) or from Ravča (through Gornja Višnjica).
