Marčenegla is a village on the southern edge of a plateau above the Račiški potok stream and Lake Butoniga, in the town of Buzet in Istria County. It is interesting for its well-preserved row village of dark stone.
The village is of medieval origin and is mentioned in 1102 as Marceniga. The houses in rows, between which streets run, are built of local dark stone and covered with gable roofs of channel tiles. Beside them are farm buildings: stables, konobas and hayricks. In the cemetery is the church of St. Peter, and in its south chapel remains of wall paintings and a Glagolitic inscription from 1552 are preserved. Above the village stands the chapel of St. Helena from the 18th and 19th centuries. The ensemble is dated from the 12th to the 20th century.
The ensemble is a protected cultural good, entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code RRI-0312-1972.
