The Praputnjak ethno-zone is located in the area of the Town of Bakar, in Primorje-Gorski Kotar County. It includes the village of Praputnjak and the land of Dolčina, a landscape in which the traditional way of farming has persisted for millennia.
The zone includes the village of Praputnjak and the land of Dolčina with the abandoned hamlets of Tadejsko and Bujansko and the sites Trnovica, Gradine, Krčine, Rebar and Dugi Redi. Dolčina is a karst sinkhole with preserved traditional economic patterns whose origin reaches back to Proto-Slavic times; ponds for watering livestock and walled springs have been preserved. The farming and wine-growing zone of Praputnjak is mentioned in written sources as early as the 15th century. With the building of roads in the 18th and 19th centuries the settlement separated from the agricultural area of Dolčina, but kept a functional link with it.
The ethno-zone is a protected cultural good and is entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code RRI-0383-1975.
