The Gromače hillfort, in Italian Grumazze, lies near Brtonigla in Istria County. For visitors it is interesting as a well-preserved prehistoric fortification on an elevated plateau above the valley of the Mirna river.
It is located between the bays of Soline and Vruje. On the northern and eastern sides it is defended by a strong dry-stone rampart, in places more than ten meters wide, with a total length of more than two hundred meters. The southern and western sides are protected by an almost vertical, hard-to-reach cliff. At least two original entrances are visible, with tongue-shaped reinforcements and megalithic blocks with shaped corners. The interior preserves an undamaged cultural layer in which fragments of Iron Age hillfort pottery can be seen.
The hillfort is a protected cultural good, entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-3103.
