The church of St. Anthony the Hermit stands in the village of Jurjenići, south of the town of Kastav, along the road that leads from the village toward Kalvarija and the town cemetery, in Primorje-Gorski Kotar County. For visitors it is interesting because of the Glagolitic inscriptions scratched into the frescoes.
The properly oriented single-nave church with a prominent semicircular apse is a Gothic building from the 15th century. Not long after construction it was painted inside with frescoes, which were considerably damaged in later renovations. Numerous Glagolitic inscriptions are scratched on them, among them the one on the north wall with the date 16 April 1453, as well as a dedicatory inscription in Latin letters from the time of the renovation of 1875. In the 19th century the church was renovated twice: in 1837 the nave was extended to the east and a new apse with a barrel vault was added, and in 1875 a new bell gable and a loggia with a porch were built.
The church is a protected cultural good, entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-2205.
