Church of Sts. Cosmas and Damian with Bell Tower, Poljica

The parish church of Sts. Cosmas and Damian stands in Poljica on the island of Krk, in the area of the Town of Krk in Primorje-Gorski Kotar County. For visitors it is interesting because several centuries of additions can be read in it, from the end of the 15th century to the turn of the 20th century.

It is single-nave, properly oriented, with a cruciform floor plan. A Glagolitic date on a window frame speaks of the year 1497, that is, the end of the 15th century. The facade is adorned with a Renaissance oculus. At the end of the 16th or beginning of the 17th century a new sanctuary was built, and in the Baroque a porch with a three-pitched roof and two side chapels were added to the facade. The bell tower, separated from the church and built of ashlar, was completed in 1768, with Baroque plasticity of the cornices and a balustrade of the loggia with biforas. At the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries the nave received new arched windows in the spirit of historicism.

The church is a protected cultural good, entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-2722.
