Vinjerac is a settlement on the southern coast of the Velebit Channel, in the municipality of Posedarje, Zadar County. For visitors it is interesting as a small harbor on a rocky peninsula, where a Venetian castle has been preserved by the sea.
The settlement developed under Venetian administration, which turned it into the castle of Castel Venier. The core is a dense group of houses north and east of the parish church of St. Anthony. The oldest complex gathers around the remains of the castle, on which loopholes and openings for cannons are preserved, and the face of the rampart can also be seen. Inside the courtyard several houses were built, mostly one- and two-storey buildings of vernacular architecture, while outside the rampart there are several maritime houses. The ensemble belongs to the period from the 15th to the 20th century.
The ensemble is a protected cultural good, entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-4948.
