The Trojan hillfort rises near Polača in Zadar County, at the end of a plateau from which it overhangs the Vrana field. A viewpoint and a prehistoric rampart make it interesting for excursionists.
On the northeastern and northwestern sides it is separated from the surroundings by a natural ravine, and on the approach side it is closed by a rampart up to 4 m high in the shape of a sickle. It is built of several longitudinally joined walls, and its outer face is of large roughly dressed blocks; in the middle are the remains of a gate. On the surface there is a lot of Liburnian and Roman pottery and the occasional Greek fragment. Inside the rampart a network of passages that crossed at right angles can be made out, along with foundations of former walls in mortar. It is probably the hillfort settlement of Blandona, known from historical sources. At the foot is an Iron Age cemetery. The hillfort is dated from 1000 to 1 BC.
The hillfort is a protected cultural good, entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-3022.
Data: Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia (Ministry of Culture and Media), Open Licence; coordinates: DGU (centre of the settlement).
