Archaeological Zone of Muline, Ugljan

Muline is an archaeological zone on the lower side of the island of Ugljan, in the town of Preko in Zadar County. It is of interest to visitors because here, in one place, residential, economic and sacred remains from the 1st to the 6th century AD can be seen.

Ancient buildings have been explored and protected: an economic facility in which grapes and olives were processed, a memoria, a mausoleum and the basilica of St. John. Next to Gospodska gomila, architecture has been partly uncovered that extends both toward the sea and toward the land. Experts stress that the whole zone has yet to be explored in detail.

A protected cultural good, entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-4429. The site shows that in antiquity the island had a developed economy and a rich religious life.
