Near Cape Kamenjak, close to Premantura in Istria County, the remains of the wreck of an armed sailing ship lie on the seabed. For divers it is an interesting underwater site from the time when merchant ships sailed the Adriatic armed.

The remains spread over an area of 30x50 metres, at a depth of 21 to 24 metres, about two hundred metres east of the cape. Three iron cannons with mounts, a smaller iron anchor and scattered glass beads, part of the cargo, have been documented. Beneath the sand the remains of the wooden structure of the ship can be glimpsed; the ship was 18 to 22 metres long. The wreck belongs to the 17th or 18th century.

The site is a protected cultural property, entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-69.

Data: Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia (Ministry of Culture and Media), Open Licence; coordinates: DGU (centre of the settlement).
