Church of the Assumption of Mary, Zlarin

In the local cemetery in Zlarin, an island settlement in the City of Šibenik (Šibenik-Knin County), stands the Church of the Assumption of Mary. It is interesting to visitors who want to see how a small island church changed over the centuries, from the 15th to the 18th century.

The building is of stone, single-nave, with a rectangular apse and regular orientation. Only the north facade of the nave is plastered. The nave has a gabled tile roof, and the apse a gabled roof of Mediterranean channel tiles. The main facade is of regular ashlar blocks, above the portal is a stone rose window, and at the top a stone bell gable for three bells in two rows. The church is first mentioned in documents in the 15th century, and at the end of the 18th century it received its present form.

A protected cultural property, entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-6435.
