The Church of St Nicholas is located in the local cemetery in Crno, a settlement near Zadar, in Zadar County. It is a quiet place for anyone looking for traces of medieval building outside the town centres.
It is a medieval building of Romanesque form, with the addition of Gothic elements, built in the period from the 12th to the 15th century. The plan is a rectangle with a pronounced semicircular apse on the east side. The walls are built of finely dressed stone blocks. In the central axis of the facade follow, one above the other, the main portal with a lunette and a rose window with Gothic features, and at the top is a bell gable for two bells. The apse has a half-dome vault covered with stone slates. Another portal with a lunette is on the south side of the building.
The church is a protected cultural property, entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-1330.
