Gabonjin is a village in the municipality of Dobrinj, in Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, and in it a visitor can see how the traditional manner of building changed from older herders' hamlets to more developed farm homesteads.
The organisation of the village speaks of a strong farming culture over an older pastoral one. The Stanišće site shows well-preserved older forms of traditional building, while the part called Vrh sela shows developed forms from the 19th and early 20th century. The village is loose, composed of independent homesteads with one or more residential buildings and farm buildings inside a dry-stone enclosure. The houses are of stone, ground-floor or two-storey, with outside staircases and terraces over vaults, a gabled roof of channel tiles and massive chimneys of varied shapes. The farm buildings are built of dry stone with a plant covering.
The ensemble is a protected cultural property and is entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-7130.
