Rural Ensemble Risika - Glavica

Glavica is a hamlet near Risika on the island of Krk, in the municipality of Vrbnik in Primorje-Gorski Kotar County. For a visitor it is interesting as an insight into how village space on Krk was arranged in the past.

The ensemble includes the hamlet with its immediate surroundings and is part of the wider Paprata area, but singled out as a separate spatial unit. It shows the way a village on Krk was organised in the 15th and 16th centuries. It consists of several house plots with stone residential and farm buildings of small ground plans, covered with channel tiles or plant material. The settlement is dominated by the mošuna, a farm building of dry-stone, which shows that the inhabitants engaged in farming and livestock raising.

The ensemble is a protected cultural property, entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code RRI-0397-1976.
